Will you?

This song makes me happy and gets me through my days when I am feeling down about anything. Just simply put: I will sing.

Life after college.
I was just talking with a friend how we miss the simplicities of college life. We miss being around our friends. We miss how we could see each other on a regular basis and just hang out whenever we wanted. So, I ask will you remember that? Or if you are in college do you just want to get out? Well I will say right now that the year or so after college is a strange place for a recent graduate. You are thinking "Now what?" Well you move on with your life that's what. Time stands still for no one. The friends that you made will come and go. The ones that you stay in touch with over the years are the ones that you will remain your friends and it is a two way street. However, there is a joy in the uncertainty of this "post" graduate feeling. What is that joy? Well THE UNCERTAINTY. We can make new friends. Move to different places. Reminisce with our old friends. We make our own adventure. That is the joy. UNCERTAINTY. I mean yes it can be a little stressful but so what?! Life isn't easy. There is a quote from t.v. show that I like to say (if you can tell me the t.v. show I will be absolutely shocked)
"It's time take chances, make mistakes, and get messy!"
I mean come on right? We, as post graduates, are in the prime of our life! We may have to pay bills, find jobs, or even (gasp) make new friends but our memories of college and our friends will never fade. It is time to make new memories!

I had a blast in college and made some awesome friends, who will continue to be an awesome.(LR)I met some awesome people. I have some awesome memories.

OK I am off my high horse. I leave you with something completely random and completely me. I wish I were a colatura soprano simply so I could sing this aria.

Suggestions

So life after college can be pretty intense, crazy, awesome, tiring, stressful, and crazy. That sums up my life in the past year.

I pay bills. (gross)
I work. (two jobs that pay me decent thank you Jesus)
I have A LOT of free time and I don't. (I know confusing)

So with everything that is going on with life after college and being an adult what should one do to not go insane?
Well you need to have something to escape to.

So, within this blog you will read/see the things that get me through my day/my week/my month.

Let's start with my number one vice:
I can't help it but the picture says it all. I am a Diet Coke addict. I BLEED Diet Coke. So, every morning I wake up and I drink and I let the invigorating sensation of an ice cold DC course through my body like the blood that runs in our veins. (told ya I am a little obsessed/addicted)

Now this is not a vice but something that gets me through everything:
My Lord God is the one thing that gets me through everything.

Now my next thing is my movies and my t.v. I love movies. I love every KIND of movie. However, my favorite genre of movie is horror. I love sitting and being scared. I don't know why. I think it might be because I used to watch sci-fi(y)and horror movies with my dad when I was younger.
Some of my favorite horror/fantasy/sci-fi movies are:
The Descent
The Grudge (that sound the ghost makes.....YIKES!)
Donnie Darko
The Mist
Inception
28 Days Later & 28 Weeks Later
Those are to just to name a few. I could go on and on and on and on.

Now moving on to T.V.
I love my T.V. shows. They are usually what gets me through my nights most of the time.
Here are the few that I love.
Lost
American Idol
American's Next Top Model
Supernatural
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Being Human
Fringe
What I like about you
So You Think You Can Dance?
Pretty Little Liars

And these are just to name a few. (I like my T.V.)

Also, I love getting lost in a book series.
I have read the Twilight series (more than once)
Harry Potter (more than once)
Currently I am working through The House of Night series and I love these books.

So life after college you need to find things that can help you through your day. You need to take some time for yourself and do things that you enjoy.
Until next time I leave you with a song that I am currently obsessed with.
It combines music and some dancers from one of my favorite T.V. shows.

Hello boys and girls, mad scenes, and trinkwasser. Oh my!

So, life after college from student teaching to Europe.

Student teaching; it wasn't easy but it wasn't hard. I student taught in the Orville City School district with some of the most amazing music teachers ever. They teach through the Kodaly method, which is an awesome way to teach music. (I suggest you look it up and learn about it. It will blow your mind!) I enjoyed doing student teaching and I enjoyed my students but it was a learning experience for sure. I never knew how scary it was to teach until my very first time leading a choir and conducting a general music classroom. However, my mentor got me through it. She is by far one of the best teachers/mentors I have ever come across. She and I still keep in touch. "Hello boys and girls" :)

So, I finished student teaching and was "done" with college. However, I hung around Canton and still sang with the chorale because we were going to Europe! So, the next couple of months after student teaching were fluff months. I worked at the movie theatre and earned money for Europe. I Played basically around Canton. I grew during this time. I grew as a singer and as a person. I was in my second major opera, I was in Opera Cleveland's production of Lucia di Lammermoor. I loved doing that show. I sang with some of the best singers in Ohio. Here is a photo of me during the "mad scene". The mad scene is the most famous scene from this opera.

I also got into a major car accident. Basically I was sandwiched between a semi-truck and a pick-up truck. The worse was what happened to my trunk.

Then finally after everything that happened during those fluff months I got to go to Europe with my Chorale!
The best trip I have ever taken. I loved every second of it.
The best city we stayed in was Hallstatt, Austria. It was a beautiful little town on one of Austria's biggest lakes. We actually got to sing at the church in this photo.

I had a good couple of fluff months and I had fun. I got to do some of the most amazing things during those months. I will always have the memories of student teaching, the opera, and Europe.

I don't wanna work today

This is is how I feel today.
I don't wanna work today. Maybe I just wanna stay.....
NO STRESS! (Laurent Wolf)

Listen to the song.

Sometimes you just don't want to work.
I mean life after college can be stressful. That's why you need to have NO STRESS!
Listen to music, look up and enjoy the sunshine, snow, rain, or whatever.
We have lots of things in our lives that take our stress away.

Why stress over little things like work when you can have no stress. Life after college hasn't been the "no stress" attitude but there are days that I think why stress? You shouldn't stress out about life. If you are trusting in God then He will lead you to a no stress attitude.

In other news I am currently on the job hunt. (again)
Due to the fact that working two part time jobs just isn't cutting it.
However, with a no stress attitude I know something will work out. Right?
No stress.

I still don't want to work today.
